Our Elders
Bobby Bowden-Pastor
Bobby Bowden has been our Pastor since our conception. He has a Divinity degree but you would never know it by the way he speaks to you. His Texas draw and sincere words hit you right in your heart. His teaching and preaching are Bible based and interesting. His love for the Lord is quite passionate and it shows with his thoughtful insight into the scriptures. His favorite quote is: "If the Bible says it, that settles it; therefore I believe it!" That may follow with a holler of YEEEEHAAAA. You never know with him.
Jim Farrar-Elder
-Jim Farrar... is a leader who has great knowledge of business, common sense, and loves the western way of life. He is a real cowboy who has come through many defeats and triumphs in his life that allows him the knowledge and wisdom to share with us for the betterment of us all. Jim makes a great Elder because of he is an honest, hard-working man who loves his church family and continually goes above and beyond to ensure each of us has an opportunity to know God. He studies his Bible and searches in the Word for the truths of God that will help him lead the sheep.
Ben Maple-Elder
Like his father, Ben grew up in the West Virginia mountains farming and ranching. He moved to Texas where "Cowboys" live and has been here ever since. He is still "cowboying" at the ripe young age of 86 with a small horse ranch. His conversion to the Lord at age 14 "has never changed. I just love the Lord more today." Ben brings a vitality of energy and a world of wisdom to the doors of the Western Star Cowboy Church.
His dedication to the Word and his love for his church family is demonstrated faithfully by always being "johnny-on-the-spot" when it comes to working for the Lord.

"West Texas" Wes Robinson-Elder
Wes is one of a kind. His testimony will fill your eyes with "tears of joy". Wes is by nature, a Christian farmer from West Texas who raises his own little garden year after year. His "2 acre" little garden provides more food than one could imagine and his generosity in "giving it away" demonstrates the biblical principle of "giving above and beyond". His unique common sense and witty humor is only overshadowed by his love for his Lord and His Word.
Tye Kinnibrugh
Tye is one of the founding members of the church, and the youngest elder. He has dedicated himself to serving the Lord. Tye has served our country in the Army during Desert Storm and Gulf Wars, and he continues to serve in the Texas Army National Guard. Tye’s commitment to serve the Lord is as strong as it is to serve and protect our country. He grew up around “Cowboy’s for Christ” giving him a deep love for God, the church and the Cowboy way of life.
Tye grew up in a horse training and professional rodeo family. Rumor has it that there’s a picture to prove that before he could walk he had a rope in his hand and pigging string hangin’ out of his mouth. With that situation there is no way he could not help becoming a rodeo man !
